About Ziyanda Tshangana

Ziyanda Tshangana (born Ziyanda Qwane) is a South African gospel artist whose journey from Sunday School worship to national recognition reflects a life devoted to faith and music. Raised in Tsomo in the Eastern Cape, she discovered her love for singing at a young age and later served faithfully in various church worship teams, where her deep and authentic connection to worship was nurtured.

Her gift was sharpened through national singing competitions, but her rise into the public eye came unexpectedly when videos of her singing at home — often filmed on her well-known red couches — began circulating on Facebook and YouTube, drawing widespread admiration.

Ziyanda officially launched her solo career in 2020 with her debut single “Mkhos’onomandla.” In 2021, she led “Angingedwa” with Indumiso YeTende, earning Best Itende Song at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, where she also delivered a live performance. She followed this with the 2022 single “Sinomhlobo onguJesu” and featured on Zanele Mashabane’s 2023 album Ngine Cule.

A defining milestone came in 2024 when she hosted her first sold-out live recording at the East London Guild Theatre. Later that year, she released two powerful singles, “Sibong’ Igama Lakho” and “Ulihlathi Lethu Thixo,” both of which topped gospel charts and gained widespread acclaim.

On 28 March 2025, she released her debut full-length album Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God, featuring collaborations with celebrated gospel artists including Putuma Tiso, Sindi Ntombela, and Betusile Mcinga. In May 2025, she featured on EBMQ Group’s single “Mangath’ Akekho.”

Her growing impact has earned her nominations at the Women in Gospel Awards for Best Female Artist and Best Worship Song, as well as two major nominations at the 2025 Crown Gospel Music Awards for Best Female Artist and Best Worship Song for “Ulihlathi Lethu Thixo.”

In October 2025, Ziyanda recorded another live project at Calvary Church in East London, featuring EBMQ and several local artists, with the release anticipated in early 2026.

In 2026, she was further honored with an Excellence Award in the Gospel Category from the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, recognizing her outstanding contribution to gospel music in the province.

Rooted in spiritual conviction and carried by a powerful yet tender vocal presence, Ziyanda Tshangana continues to extend her influence from the Eastern Cape to worshippers globally. Blending heartfelt worship, digital reach, and impactful live recordings, she remains a compelling voice in contemporary gospel — lifting hearts toward hope, reverence, and the Kingdom of God.
